She was predeceased by: her parents, Steve Simmons and Mary Emma Rouse Simmons. She is survived by: her husband Johnny Hawley; her children, Beth Wachter Pope (Tracy) of Clinton, NC and Mark Wachter of Wilmington, NC; her stepchildren, Summer Hawley Gruber (Matt) of Charlottesville, VA and Jay Hawley of Greenville, NC; and her sisters, Bobbie Staten (Glenn Christie) of Goldsboro and Jean Minton (Phil) of Burlington, NC..
