He is survived by: his wife Joyce Thornton Clifton; his daughter Lisa Britt of Clinton; his granddaughters, Stormie Underwood (Brandon) and Jessica Johnson (Drew); his great grandchildren, Gunner Underwood, Granger Underwood and Jansen Johnson; and his siblings, Helen Ballance and Glenn Clifton (Linda). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
