He was predeceased by: his parents, Florence Johnson and John Parker; and his siblings, Bobbie, Willie, Peggie, Joe, Carolyn and Mack Ray.
He is survived by: his fiancée Annie O'Bryant; his children, Charles Johnson Jr. (Atira Weeks), David Johnson (Dolly Ortiz Johnson), Eric Johnson (Rebecca Johnson) and Tonya Johnson; his grandchildren, Ashley Johnson, Charles Johnson III, Eric Johnson Jr., David Johnson Jr., Janie Johnson, Bryce Hemingway and Holland Wright; his sister Mildred (Hurbert Prospere); and his brother-in-law Robert Douglas. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family, and friends.
