She was predeceased by: her parents, Dearl Lane and Mary E. Wimbley; her husband Samuel Powell; her brothers, Cecil Lane and LD Lane; and her nephew Shaun Mason.
She is survived by: her sons, Justin Powell of Ashville and Samuel Powell of Clinton; her siblings, Mary Mason of Clinton, Delbert Wayne Lane of Dunn and John Lane of Dunn; her daughter Heidi Shelton of Dunn; her granddaughter Lilly Powell; her siblings' children, Cheyenne Mason, David Mason, Bentley Shelton, Brandon Mason, Olivia Norris and Johnathan Mason; and her caregivers, Mary Mason, Jonathan Mason and Alysia Mason.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 11th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel (1246 Hobbton Hwy, Clinton, NC 28328). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, September 12th 2025 at the Family Cemetery.
