He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Ingram and Lola Tew Register; his former wife Eleanor Batts Register; his son C. L. Register; and his siblings, Sybil Smith, Parnell Matthis, Zeanie Bell Matthis, Theola Stewart, Mae Eleanor Sullivan, Willa Crea Warren, Haywood Register and Hallie Register.
He is survived by: his wife Eloise S. Register; his children, Lynn R. Daughtry of Clinton and Carlton Register of Clinton; his sister Mozzelle Jones Hope of Clinton; his brother-in-law Bobby Warren of Clinton; his stepchildren, Teresa Carter (Richard Yarborough) of Wallace and Wade Carter (Janice) of Wallace; his grandchildren, Glenn Register (Keri) and Sharla Richardson; his stepgrandchildren, Jeremy Carter (Katie), Kyle Carter (Katelyn), Bo Dixon and Sam Dixon; and his stepgreat-grandson Thane Carter.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, 3949 Taylors Bridge Hwy, Clinton, NC 28328, or to one's favorite charity.
