He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Hughes and Ethel Black Dixon; his wife Deborah Lynn Dixon; his fiancée Dottie West; his daughter Amber Leann Dixon; and his great-nephew Donovan Watkins.

He is survived by: his sister Sharon Dixon Gibson of Charlottesville, Virginia; his daughters, Danielle Norris and Patricia Eguia; the parent of his children Lulong Miller; his children, Gwendolyn Caldwell of Lillington, Jimmy Johnson of Benson and Jeremy Chapman of Pinehurst; his grandchildren, Danny Lee Russo of Four Oaks, Brittany, Whitney, Sierra, Jr., Miracle, Megan, Christopher, Dillon, Sarah, Abbie, Caroline and Christian; his nephew Christopher Gibson; his niece Jacqueline Gibson; and his great-nephews, Charles Bright and Gregory Bright. He is also survived by Numerous Great Grandchildren.
