He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Francis and Dorothy Lane Matthews; and his siblings, Lynette Matthews and David Wayne Matthews. He is survived by: his girlfriend Ellen Norris; his daughter Misty Wood (Rory) of Maury, NC; his grandsons, Trey of Maury, NC, Lucas of Maury, NC and Joseph Wood of Maury, NC; his brother Danny Harold Matthews of Turkey; his cousin Gloria Gillespie of Clinton; his nieces, Elizabeth Furmidge, April Powell and Amber Rich; and his close friend Larry Jackson.
