She was predeceased by: her parents, Ammie Jacobs and Themia Simmons Jacobs; her husband William Ammons (Mose); her daughters, Harriett Mitchell, Valette Dean Ammons (Vale) and Mona Lynel Ammons; and her sisters, Shirley Carter, Sonja Faye Tyler and Phyllis Grey Bryant.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Tenesha Abernethy (Bryan) and Trenton Mitchell (Puja); her great grandchildren, William Taj Mitchell, Priya, Mitchell, Divya Marie Mitchell and William Luke Abernethy; and her brothers, Ammie Gordon "Gordy" Jacobs, Gregory Dancel Jacobs (Debi) and Kent Jacobs (Tammy). She is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
