She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Desmond Carter and Penny Gertrude Sutton Carter; her husbands, Robert L. Phillips and Archie Avance Tyndall; her siblings, Wanda Matthews, C. D. Carter, Jr. and George Carter; and her son-in-law Marshall G. Falatovich.
She is survived by: her children, Shelly Phillips of Clinton, Cyndie P. Falatovich of Clinton and Reverend Robert Phillips (Claudette) of Roxboro; and her stepchildren, Tony Tyndall (Jennifer), LaRue Darden (Dwight) and Randy Tyndall (Melody). She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 9:00 AM and on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Grove Park Baptist Church (609 Northeast Blvd, Clinton, NC 28328). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
