Though Elaine may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Elaine touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her father Philip Bartholomew Monk; and her mother-in-law Pattie Usher Monk. She is survived by: her husband John E. Allen, Jr.; her son Jonathan E. Allen (Julie) of Fairfax Station, VA; her granddaughter Janna A. Laton (Neil); her great grandchildren, Caroline Allen Laton, John Cooper Laton and Fuquay; her brother Phil Monk (Gayle Monk) of Oak Point, TX; and her sister-in-law Debbie Oxendine (Larry Oxendine) of Spring Hope, NC..
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Sampson County Heritage Museum in Clinton, NC in Elaine's memory.
