He was predeceased by: his parents, Roscoe Almond Bass, Sr. and Mamie Lee Haney; and his brothers, Carl Haney, Alfred Haney, Roscoe Bass, Jr. and Rubin Bass.

He is survived by: his wife Hazel Davis Bass; his children, Carolyn Bass, Amanda B. DeBusk (Taylor) of Arizona, Robin B. Hultman (Todd) of Indiana, Glenn Bass, II of Wendell, Dennis Rice of Texas, Jonathan Rice of Fayetteville and James Rice of Fayetteville; and his sisters, Elizabeth Brown of Dunn, Catherine Corbett of Clinton and Rosie Carter of Clinton. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
