She was predeceased by: her parents, Oliver Green Simmons and Ada Bell Freeman Simmons; and her sisters, Carol Brewington, Deloris Simmons and Glenda Foss.
She is survived by: her children, Janet Denise Lewis (Raymond), Verlie Elaine Pittman (Jimmy) and Kenny Ray Odom (Amber); her former husband Kent Odom; her grandchildren, Jessica Leigh Pittman, Kimberly Elaine Hollard (Dillon), Grace Annette Shivar, Gavin Ray Odom, Garrett Hunter Odom and Brealyn Elizabeth Odom; her great grandchildren, Nova Alise Holland and Wesley Brayden Oliver; and her sister Sarah Davis. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the New Bethel Baptist Church (1165 Mt Moriah Church Rd, Clinton, NC 28328). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
