He is survived by: his mother Doris Wilson Gainey; his wife Joan Royal Gainey of Clinton; his son Jared Gainey (Samantha Britt) of Raleigh; his sisters, Barbara Gainey Carter (Terry) of Clinton and Beverly Gainey Bradshaw (Scott) of Clinton; his nieces, Breanna Avery (Jonathon) of Clinton, Blair Bradshaw of Clinton and Haley Carter of Clinton; and his nephew Tyler Royal of Raleigh.
