She was predeceased by: her parents, James Elder Cannady and Kathleen Parsons Cannady; and her brother James Harold Cannady. She is survived by: her husband Thomas Michael Bass; her son James Robert Shatterly (Tamara Blanton Shatterly); her grandchildren, Mary Logan Shatterly and Anderson Claire Shatterly; her stepson Christopher M. Bass (Nicole); her stepgrandchild Dillion Bass; her stepson Benjamin K. Bass; her stepgrandchildren, Sterling and Mallory Bass; and her sister Mavis Cannady Hobbs. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Masonic Home for Children, 600 College St., Oxford, NC 27565 in memory of Jewel Bass.
