He was predeceased by: his parents, John Elam Allen, Sr. and Ruth Adams Allen Knowles; and his wife Doris Elaine Monk Allen. He is survived by: his children, Jonathan E. Allen (Julie) of Fairfax Station, VA and Janna A. Laton (Neil) of Fuquay Varina; his grandchildren, Caroline Allen Laton and John Cooper Laton; and his sister Debbie Oxendine (Larry) of Spring Hope.
