She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernice Smith and Neta King Smith; her husband Alton Edward Pope; and her sons, Alton "Buddy" Howard Pope and Charles Edward Pope.

She is survived by: her daughter Sylvia Hales (Ray); her daughter-in-law Kay Pope; her grandchildren, Kevin Pope, Kimberly Pope, Randy Hales, Allen Hales, Brian Hales, Connie Williams and Chris Pope; and her siblings, Earl Smith (Christine), Dean Bland (Everrette) and Carolyn West. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.
