She was predeceased by: her parents, John Allen Chesnutt and Pearl Revelle Chesnutt Caroll; her husband Gene Barefoot; her daughter Sharon Barefoot; and her sister Norma Rae Jones.

She is survived by: her daughters, June B. Sloan (Tommy), Nancy Barefoot (Kenneth) and Betsy Barefoot (Clyde Preston); her grandchildren, April Scharp (Will), Jeffrey Barber (B. J.) and Barrett Sloan (Allison); her siblings-in-law, Carl Barefoot (Jean Faye) and Judy Barefoot; her son-in-law Gary Barber; and her friend Mary Paul Sinclair. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.
