She was predeceased by: her parents, Silas Egbert and Hattie Hoffman Howell; her husband Robert Thomas Herring of Tomahawk, NC; her son-in-law John Nelson III; and her brother-in-law Jack Arthur.
She is survived by: her daughters, Nell Hudson (Dewey), Jane Kroeger (Gary) and Robbin Nelson; her grandchildren, Kate Cheek (Ben), Blake Hudson (Jenna), John Nelson (Brittany), Melissa Tyson (Christian), Alex Kroeger and Lauren Kroeger; her great grandchildren, Ella Saunders, Adalyn Cheek, Emily Cheek, Cameron Hudson, Tyler Hudson, Coleman Hudson and Oliver Nelson; and her siblings, Bettie Arthur, John Howell (Mary Elizabeth) and Pete Howell (Nancy). She is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.
