She was predeceased by: her parents, Romie Lee Barts and Isabell Matthis Barts; and her daughter Phyllis Ann Lane (Avery). She is survived by: her sisters, Elizabeth, Edna and Shirley Mae; her husband Ernest Douglas Avery, Jr.; her children, Ernest Dwight Avery (Robyn) of Roseboro, NC, Ernestine Michelle (Avery) and Murphy (Dennis) of Clinton, NC; her son-in-law Jackie Ambrose Lane; her grandchildren, Hillary Jeanne (Avery), Laura Elizabeth (Lane), Wood (Gilliam) of Raleigh, NC, Sarah Abigail Murphy of Wilmington, NC, Isabell Catherine (Murphy), Jackson Dwight Avery of Roseboro, NC and Dorothy Victoria Lane of Clinton, NC; her great grandchildren, Avery Cotton Loflin, Declan James Kelley, Sawyer David Loflin and Isaac Daniel Kelley; her nieces and nephews, Kimia Davis (James Earl) of Roseboro, NC and Russell Barron (Maria) of Coats, NC; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Nickolas Davis of Clinton, NC and Russell Barron, Jr. of Coats, NC; Candace, Kaylee, Harold and Bobby. She is also survived by brothers and sisters, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, close family friends, and in later years, her great grandchildren.
