She was predeceased by: her parents, Ivey Gautier and Illa Mae Tanner Gautier; her husband Robert Sheril Thornton; her siblings, Annie Mae Porter, Shirley Johnson and Earl Gautier; and her grandson Kevin Thornton.
She is survived by: her children, Danny Ray Thornton, Gloria Gail Rivenbark (Jeff), Sheril Wayne Thornton (Linda) and Lynda Gail Malpass (Lloyd). She is also survived by nine grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home (118 Fayetteville St, Clinton, NC 28328). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 at the Grandview Memorial Gardens (2809 US-421, Clinton, NC 28328).
