He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Brinkley and Martha Brinkley; his father-in-law Freddie "Coonie" Vann; and his nephew Van Alphin. He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Vann Brinkley; his children, Alex and Savannah; his pet Cooper; his mother-in-law Hattie Jane Vann; his brother James Harold Brinkley; his sisters-in-law, Debbie Vann Alphin (David) and Amy Vann Fields (James); his aunt Evelene Brinkley; his pet Beau; and his cousins, Becky, Peggy and Donna. He is also survived by cousins; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bus Ministry of Charity Baptist Church, a cause that was very dear to his heart, as he deeply understood what it meant to be a child in need.
