Monk; her husband William Dean "Buddy" Parker; her daughter Cherry Lynn Monk; her granddaughter Christina Monk; her grandparents, Henry Lee, Rossi Butler Monk, Willie and Anna Williams; and her siblings, Verlie Lee "June Bug" Monk, Jr., Christine Bynum, Geraldine McLaurin, Ernestine McNeil and Judy Marlene Williams.
She is survived by: her children, Philistine Monk Elliott of Fayetteville, NC and William Lee Monk; her grandchildren, Dexter Devon Monk of Anthony, Ridell James (Shanna), Sherman Parker Jr., Justine Monk, Dominique Laster (David Sr.), Ebone V. Monk, Sopheria Monk and Emeri Monk; her great grandchildren, Dailya Laster, Derrick Laster, Jr., Navaeh James, Avarion James, Kaden James and Daniel Bell; and her sisters, Lou Alice Taylor of Atlantic City, Elaine Owens (Jerry) of Roseboro, NC, Crosby Monk of Salemburg, NC. and Alice Williams of Salemburg, NC..
Visitation was held on Friday, August 21st 2026 at 5:00 PM at 684 Lakewood School Rd, Salemburg, NC 28385. A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 22nd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Bearskin Missionary Baptist Church (4721 Bearskin Rd, Clinton, NC 28328). A burial was held on Saturday, August 22nd 2026 at the Bearskin Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery (4721 Bearskin Rd, Clinton, NC 28328).
