It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Anthony Edwards Rutz of Clyde, North Carolina, who passed away on April 29, 2026, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Anthony has departed this earthly realm, his legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May his spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Anthony Mathew Rutz of Stamford, CT and Kate Edwards Rutz of Mullins, SC.; and his sister Derry Anderson. He is survived by: his wife Marianna Moon Rutz; his children, Edward, David (Krista) and Melinda (Mark); his siblings, Helen and Darryl; and his grandchildren, Amber, Parker, Conner and Jaedon.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 30th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Crabtree United Methodist Church (5405 Crabtree Rd, Clyde, NC 28721).
