She was predeceased by : her parents, Hugh Smith and Cora Mae James Smith; her husband Roger Ferguson; and her son Travis Ferguson. She is survived by : her son Dennis Ferguson (Laura); her grandchildren, Eli, Natalie, Kaitlin, Avery and Landon; her siblings, Joel Smith (Bobbie), Gary Smith and Renee Henderson (Rick); her sister-in-law Gail McElroy Rhonda (Ray); and also Kimberly. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Upper Crabtree Community Cemetery. A reception was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church (1949 Upper Crabtree Rd, Clyde, NC 28721).
