He was predeceased by: his parents, John Nelson and Lola Pearl Ennis Stephenson; his wife Ruth Norris Stephenson; and his brother Ethridge Stephenson. He is survived by: his children, Sue S. "Annette" Johnson (Kent), William "Junior" Stewart (Jacqui) and Timmy Stewart (Holly); his siblings, Barbara N. Stewart, Brenda S. Pope and Ricky D. Stephenson (Vickie); his siblings-in-law, Hazel T. Stephenson, Betty N. Stewart and Edwin Norris; and his pet Smokey. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 10:15 AM to 10:45 PM at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Inc. (90 W Stewart St, Coats, NC 27521). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
