She was predeceased by: her father Jimmy Gale Godwin; and her grandparents, Roscoe and Ada Core. She is survived by: her husband Yamil A. Aponte; her stepsons, Jovan and Colby Aponte of Coats; her mother Kay Core Godwin of Dunn; and her brother Rodney Godwin (Celeste) of Dunn.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Skinner & Smith Funeral Home Chapel (905 Erwin Rd, Dunn, NC 28334). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
