It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Lewis Cofield of Colerain, North Carolina, who passed away on July 26, 2025, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore R. Cofield and Ethel Holley Cofield. He is survived by: his wife Sarah Wilson Cofield; his children, Kaylynn Wilson of Trenton, NJ, Gaytosha "Tosha" Brandon (Jimmie) of Douglasville, GA, Kymberly Truss (Jonathan) of Maryland, Timothy Wilson (Starlett) of Ewing, NJ and Donte Cofield of Bridgeton, NJ; his siblings, Anner Cofield of Merry Hill, NC, Emma Jean Mitchell of Colerain, NC, Shelton "Joe" Cofield of Colerain, NC, Theodore Cofield (Hazel) of Colerain, NC and Willie Lee Cofield (Christine) of Merry Hill, NC; and his nieces, ConTrina Jordan of Patterson, NJ and Amanda Smith of Ewing. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hunter's Funeral Home (123 Dr Martin Luther King Jr Dr N, Ahoskie, NC 27910-7612). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Ashland Missionary Baptist Church (901 NC-45, Merry Hill, NC 27957).
