He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton Odell "Farm" Smith and Ailene Slate Smith. He is survived by: his wife Gwen Smith; his daughter Brandi Talley (Edward); his grandson Edward Talley III; his siblings, MaryAnn Tucker (Larry), Carol Snipes and Brian Smith; and his cousin Keith Smith (Rhonda). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
