It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Minnie Lou McGowan of Columbia, North Carolina, who passed away on October 8, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Judson Fleetwood and Clara Ludford Hopkins; her husband Alvin McGowan; and her half-sister Ephraim Cooper. She is survived by : her son Phillip "Bud" McGowan of Columbia; her grandchildren, Jan Ochoa (Tony) of Columbia, April Kanney (David) of Columbia and Dawn Vanhorn (Ricky) of Columbia; and her friend Tim Ryan. She is also survived by six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.
