She was loved and cherished by many people including : her mother Rachel Jones Blackwell; her spouse Dufay McSwain; her children, Kerry McSwain (Wanda) and Marla Searcy; and her grandchildren, Benjamin Searcy, Leah Genobles, Brandon Searcy and Andrew McSwain. She was also cherished by sixteen great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held on Sunday, May 5th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Hickory Grove Baptist Church Cemetery (368 Hickory Grove Church Rd, Columbus, NC 28722).
