With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lucius Murphy of Como, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 29, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Lucius farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Lucius is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Vance Murphy and Fannie Maddrey Murphy. He is survived by: his children, Carolyn Murphy-Ward of Como, NC, Sheila Murphy-Parker (Howard) of Como, NC, Maxine Murphy-Washington of Greenville, NC and Glendell Murphy (Jacqueline) of Raoaoke Rapids, NC. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.
