She was predeceased by : her parents, Thomas Witt, Sr. and Margaret Leah Bostic Calton; and her siblings, Thomas, Jr., Hugh, Robert "Bob", William "Bill", Kenneth "Ken" Calton, Louise Stikeleather, Frances Query and Jessie Harrill.

She is survived by : her sister-in-law Martha Calton of Denver, N. C.; and her close friends, Barbara Miles, Landis Stewart of Concord, NC., David, Sandra and Jewel Irish of Kings Mountain, NC.. She is also survived by 15 nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 11th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the University Hills Baptist Church (1500 Suther Rd, Charlotte, NC 28213). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 11th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

“My condolences to the family of Barbara Mooney. One of the saddest things we can experience is the death of a loved one. God is aware of the grief we feel when we lose a loved one. The Bible tells us that he is there to help us through our grief. James 4:8 tell us, "Draw close to God and he will draw close to you." We can draw close to God by going to him in prayer and laying our hearts bare to him. May God bring you comfort today and in the days to come.”
