She was predeceased by: her parents, Norman Abel and Irma Abel. She is survived by: her husband Eric Christenson; her daughters, Gretchen Macfee (Scott) of Concord and Debbie Forster (Fred) of Ridgefield, Connecticut; and her granddaughter Caroline.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Barbara's memory to the Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue, Inc. 60 Vera Cruz Road, Reinholds, PA 17569, http://www.dvgrr.org, from which Barbara adopted her Labradoodle and constant companion, Jackson.
