He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Lankford Smith and Gertrude Elizabeth High Smith; his wife Dolores Dobson Smith; his daughter Tracy Smith Bridgers; and his brother Glenn Preston Smith.
He is survived by: his sister Reba Nell Smith Hannah; his sons, Matt and Joe; his son-in-law Chuck Bridgers; and his brother-in-law Phillip Walters. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Gilwood Presbyterian Church (2993 Odell School Rd, Concord, NC 28027). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 3:45 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Gilwood Presbyterian Church Building Fund, or to Hospice of Cabarrus County.
