She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude Watson Hill and Margaret Catherine Hill; her husband Earl Short; her son Carlyle Short; and her sisters, Billie Faye Christopher and Carol King.
She is survived by: her children, Rodney Short (Kiki) of Concord, NC, Wendy Wade of China Grove, NC and Jewel Durham (Billy) of Kannapolis, NC. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 7th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM at the Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord (460 Branchview Dr NE, Concord, NC 28025). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 7th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, February 7th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Carolina Memorial Park (601 Mt Olivet Rd, Kannapolis, NC 28083).
