He was predeceased by: his parents, William Pharr and Mary Morrison Pharr; his granddaughter Regina Pharr-Marble; his great grandchild Makayla; and his sister Evangelist Margie Harris of Washington, DC.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Holmes Pharr; and his children, Michael Sylvester Pharr (Barbara) of Kannapolis, Anthony James Pharr, Bishop Reginald Holmes Pharr (Shelia) of Concord, Linda P. Huntley of China Grove and Johna P. Little (Ray) of Wingate. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
