She was predeceased by: her parents, Elizabeth Mills Polk and O. T. Polk, Jr.. She is survived by: her husband Bob Nixon; her daughter Hollis Nixon of Charlotte, NC; her siblings, Connie Polk of Concord, NC and Ted Polk; and her daughter Edie Barnhardt. She is also survived by relatives, dear friends, colleagues, readers, and neighbors.
