He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilson Lee Helms and Dora Brewer Helms; his sisters, Ruth, Eula, Louise and Dot; and his son Eric Helms.
He is survived by: his wife Jane Barbee Helms; his stepson Jeff Gardner (Claudia Gardner) of Flowery Branch; his grandchildren, Brandon Helms, Brooke, Taylor (Erica), Zack, Jake and Savannah Gardner; and his great grandchildren, Micah Levi, Loralei Rose Helms, Jaxon Cove and Lola Mae Gardner.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 29th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the Wilkinson Funeral Home (100 Branchview Dr NE, Concord, NC 28025). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 29th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 3:45 PM at the same location.
