She was predeceased by: her parents, John Homer Newell and Johnnie Lucille Blackwelder Newell; and her husband Harry Lee Hargett of Alzheimer's Disease. She is survived by: her son Jeff Hargett of Charlotte; her sister Jean Ann Cox (Newell) of Kannapolis; her niece Rae Ann Stirewalt (Mike); her nephews, James Clinton "Clint" Cox and John David Cox; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Amber Cox Little (Chris), Laura Stirewalt Furr (Travis), Andrew Cox, Garrett Cox (Amanda) and Jon Stirewalt (Kelsie); Charlotte Jeanne Furr and Lucas "Luke" Maxwell Furr.
