He is survived by: his wife Jane Saling Newell of Concord; his children, Megan Tignor (David Tignor) of Concord and Nathan Derek Newell of Charlotte; and his grandchildren, Meredith Tignor, Emily Tignor and Colin Tignor. He is also survived by many extended family members, dear friends.
