He was predeceased by: his parents, Bryan Tyson and Virginia Tyson Garmon; and his sisters, Gwen Cavin, Jackie Fink and Libby Pressley.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Tyson; his children, Bryan Tyson (Shellie) of Mt. Pleasant, NC and Brooke Tyson Hynes (Bob) of Milton, MA; and his grandchildren, Ryan, Riley Tyson, Caleb and Jack Hynes.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, May 16th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Central United Methodist Church (30 Union St N, Concord, NC 28025). A reception was held on Saturday, May 16th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Kannapolis Education Foundation (https://www.kefgives.org), Rotary Club’s Polio Eradication Project or Central United Methodist Church.
