She was predeceased by: her parents, Nellie Haynes Thompson and William Oscar Thompson; her husband Ernest L. "Ernie" Burleson; her brother James S. Thompson; and her niece Cynthia Stone.

She is survived by: her nieces and nephews, Ann Marie Bamford, Annette Lasley, Alan Thompson and David Stone; and her sister Mary Ann Stone.
