“In loving memory of Eugene M. Wheeler, Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. Gene was a long time friend from California. I had him on my mind this morning and looked on his Facebook and saw a message that he was resting in a better place. Gene was an important person in my political life and managed my campaign as the first black woman to seek political office in Inglewood California. He was well known in California politics. May he RIP.”
