He was predeceased by: his parents, Will L. Smith and Rachel Elizabeth Cline Smith; his wife Retha Claudeen Dobson Smith; and his siblings, Robert L. Smith, Marvin W. Smith, Willie C. Smith, Richard M. Smith, Carl H. Smith, Lucille Blackwelder, Mary Elizabeth Kendall and Rachel Juanita Christy.
He is survived by: his sons, G. Houston Smith, Jr. and Dr. William T. Smith; and his grandchildren, Naomi Nicole Smith, George Houston Smith III, Sydney Taylor Smith and Logan Riley Smith.
