He was predeceased by: his brother L. A. "Buddy" Patterson, III. He is survived by: his wife Janet Troutman Patterson; his children, Ryan M. Patterson (Heidi) of Concord and Brittany P. Eaton (Daniel) of Concord; his grandchildren, Ethan Patterson, Eliza Eaton and Isabel Eaton; and his siblings, Malinda P. Barbee Allison, Gail P. Johnson (Mike) and Robert L. (Bob). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
