She was predeceased by: her parents, Worth Franklin Roach Jr. and Emma Mae Tucker Roach; her husband Melvin Leroy Simpson; her children, Hugh "Chuck" Melvin Simpson and Hazel Ann Styers; her great grandchildren, Scottie Wise, Jr. and Maxwell Wise; and her siblings, Fred, Bill, Kenneth Roach and Ruth Morgan.
She is survived by: her daughters, Brenda Kay Broadway of Concord, Debra Kendall (Jeff) of Concord and Teresa Carter (Richard) of Concord; and her grandchildren, Connie, Toby, Dink, Scott, Chris, Sherrie, Jason, Brandy, Dennis, Eric, Amber, Jodi and Stephanie. She is also survived by 25 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to Cold Springs UMC or Hospice of Cabarrus County.
