He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley Tucker and Mary Tucker; his wife Shirley Frances Jones Tucker; and his siblings, Charles Tucker, Bob Tucker and Violet Lowman.
He is survived by: his children, Rebecca Tucker Frick (Todd) of Norwood, James David Tucker, Jr. (Terry) of Sunset Beach, NC and Mary Tucker Bigbee (Todd) of Overland Park, KS; and his grandchildren, Jake Tucker, Maggie Vealey (Michael), Nolan Stamper, Levi Stamper and Riston Bigbee. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care - Albemarle (1835 Badin Rd, Albemarle, NC 28001). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Stanly Gardens (2001 E Main St, Albemarle, NC 28001-9106).
