He is survived by: his wife Donna Brooks Oliver; his daughter Chrissy Williams (Michael); his grandson Jason Scott Oliver (Claire); his great grandchildren, Taylor, Gracie and Logan; and his siblings, Joan Miller and Joseph Oliver.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Providence Baptist Church (5315 State Hwy 49, Harrisburg, NC 28075). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Lakeview Memorial Park (3600 N O. Henry Blvd, Greensboro, NC 27405). During the unprecedented times of COVID-19 and teacher's workdays, he had "Pop Pop School" for his grandchildren, where they engaged in various activities, including exciting science experiments conducted in his kitchen.
