He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Marlowe and Janie Deal Marlowe; and his siblings, Earnest, Charlie, Tony Marlowe and Peggy Deal.

He is survived by: his wife Carol Hawks Marlowe; his daughter Tamara Marlowe of Salisbury; his stepson Christopher Hawks of Concord; his siblings, Donald Marlowe, Albert Marlowe of Rising Fawn, GA, Linda Bostian and Ann Baxter (Jerry) of Kannapolis; and his pets, Cindy, Heidi and Chessie.
