He was predeceased by: his parents, William M. Munson and Carrie Plummer Munson. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Munson of Concord, NC; his children, Jimmy Munson (Miriam), Donald Munson, Glenn Munson (Kristy), Linda (Mike Price) and Tamara Weaver (Robert Hickman); his siblings, Joe Munson and Willene M. Simpson; and his brother-in-law Ken Brinkerhoff. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Cold Water Lutheran Church, 1725 Gold Hill Road, Concord, NC.
